Establishing a Fund

A charitable giving program provides a flexible, tax-advantaged solution for making a difference in your community and the construction industry.

The Construction Education Foundation can help you if you want to:

  • Establish a permanent fund

  • Make sure your wishes will be followed after your lifetime

  • Maximize tax benefits

  • Support a general charitable area of interest

This section makes setting up a charitable giving fund easy.  Start with the steps outlined below. Initial fund balances may vary widely, from $10,000 upward.

Step 1: Choose whether your fund will be created with current assets or through your estate.

Please read more about Legacy Funds if you choose to make an estate gift.

Step 2:  Choose whether the fund will be an endowment or non-endowment.

Endowments are permanent funds where only a portion of earnings are available for making grants. The grantor has complete discretion for determining how the money will be spent.

Non-endowment funds are funds where both earnings and principal are available for making grants.

Step 3: Choose the name and purpose for your fund.

The name you choose can be a family name, the name of a loved one, or it might be a particular cause you want to promote through the Construction Education Foundation.  If you want your contributions to be anonymous you can contribute to one of the general purpose funds.
